Mr. Gottlieb has more than 15 years of experience working in and around Capitol Hill, public policy and politics. Serving as a Senior Legislative Assistant to former U.S. Representative Peter G. Torkildsen (R-MA), during the 104th Congress, he was the Congressman´s principal policy advisor on issues ranging from environmental protection to transportation and infrastructure. Since then, Mr. Gottlieb has held positions in Federal Government Relations for both the American Society for Microbiology and the American Chemistry Council (formerly the Chemical Manufacturers Association). Most recently, Mr. Gottlieb was a Vice President with Voter/Consumer Research (V/CR) in Washington, DC.
As a Vice President with Voter/Consumer Research, a well respected political and corporate opinion research firm, Mr. Gottlieb conducted research for the following selected clients: Senator Elizabeth Dole, Congressman Ron Lewis, Congressman Bill Sali, California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner, Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory, Anheuser-Busch, Altria, Reynolds America, Ringling Brothers, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association, Credit Union National Association, Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association, and the 2008 Romney for President Campaign among others.
Mr. Gottlieb received his focus group training from the Riva Training Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. He holds a Master of Arts degree from American University´s School of Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hobart College. He has lectured at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and George Washington University. He lives with his wife and children in Northern Virginia.
